A Course in VJ and Video Art.

Monte Rosa, Algarve, Portugal.

Courses currently being planned for Spring/Summer 2007

The Course.

Video DJ or VJ has rapidly become a highly popular and respected professional art form. As one uses music as a vehicle to create crafted multimedia, the possibilities for experiment by the artist is limitless. A good VJ will 'work the crowd' just as any performer would and this course will give you the skills to do it.

This 2 week VJ course focuses on the potential to play with video in order to generate your own footage and image banks for use in 'Optikle's Visualtor' software for live video mixing. Rather than using stock footage you will generate, using various programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, Premier and Final Cut, your own images and video. The idea is to enable you to mix images live to music or a performance. You will also learn how to create your own image bank on CD or DVD.
The structure of the course is left fluid to address your individual requirements. The course is designed for people interested in making backdrops for performances such live music gigs, club DJ/VJ sets, theatre, presentations, conferences or festival events.

Tuition will cover and encourage you to consider the time space movement of video and furnish you with skills, through workshops, that enable you to take you ideas through to a finished piece.
