Video Production
This course in Music Video
Production is designed to show you how to produce
a broadcast quality music video from scratch using
professional, digital equipment. Music Video is
probably one of the most exciting areas in the film
business as one can explore any number of creative
possibilities. It will be held over 12 days and,
it should be noted, that this course is extremely
demanding but it will illustrate the creativity
that can be achieved under pressure. You will learn
a great deal and by the end of the course you will
have the skills to be able to produce a Music Video
yourself.
(1)
You will be sent a CD of the track we will be using
and a photo of the band well before the start of
the course to allow you time to get ideas for the
video.
(2) Or alternatively if you are a recording artist
or have a band with a digitally mastered track and
wish to make a music video as well as attend the
course this can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
At the start of the course you will be involved
in pre-production scripting and story boarding of
the shoot and have the process explained in full.
You will receive tuition on basic cinema photography,
tips on special effects, film sets, lip synching
and how to get a good performance from the band.
The production crew, comprising of all members of
the course, will then be formed ensuring everyone
has 'hands on' input in the whole process.
The crew will then shoot the music video with an
experienced director and lighting crew in a strictly
allotted time using professional digital cameras
and equipment.
The course will then go into post production editing
using computers, state of the art software (Adobe
Premier and Final Cut) and projectors, once again
ensuring all members of the course receive 'hands
on' experience.
You will receive comprehensive course notes and
a DVD or video tape of the final edit, which will
be screened at the end of course party.
