COURSES AND WORKSHOPS PAINTING AND SKETCHING

Course tutor Suzy Hatfield.

Arriving on a spontaneous visit to Portugal I found I immediately connected to the surroundings and its inhabitants, it was love at first sight. I, as many creative
minds before me, find the Algarve's South-West the perfect place for inspiration with it's Atlantic light and relatively untouched rural coastline. Since that moment I
have spent some years exploring the landscape through the lens and capturing its
beauty through pen and brush. During my time here I have been working as an
independent Artist/photographer holding a number of local exhibitions, teaching music and art and running a "Young Artists" club. I am currently Tutoring Art and Design at the local secondary school.

The Course.

This course in Painting and sketching runs from a Monday to a Friday and is held at Monte Rosa, near Lagos on the far west of the Algarve, Portugal, one of the most beautiful places in Europe with numerous beaches with crystal clear sea and stunning countryside in the surrounding area. Its remoteness and therefore peace and quiet makes it a perfect setting for this course. It is designed for people wishing to develop paint and drawing skills with newfound inspiration . Making visual studies in the form of sketches, painting and photographs of seascapes and dilapidated rural areas . Starting on coastline nature walks exploring and gathering then back to the studio to develop into beautiful finished paintings .

The course is fully inclusive including all transportation (airport pick-ups), professional tuition, meals and accommodation. All food served is organic where possible with an emphasis on a healthy diet. Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
